This OUT OF PRINT catalogue, which actually combines two sales into one reference, lists and describes 689 lots, MOST of which appear to be illustrated, of exquisite examples of highly collectible Fine Jewelry and Silver ! The book is divided into two sections - Fine Jewels consisting of 423 lots, and Silver with a total of 266 lots. Periods include - Antique (over 100 years old), Art Nouveau (1895 - 1910), Belle Epoque (1895 - 1914), Art Deco (1915 - 1935), and Retro (1940s). Items include - chains, earrings and clips, necklaces, broaches, rings, bracelets, candelabra, table ornaments, cufflinks, watches, mugs, pitchers, trays, tea and coffee services, flatware, compotes, among HOARDS of others! Makers include - those in the header and - J. E. Caldwell + Co., Elizabeth Gage, Seaman Schepps, Storr, Gorham, Dominich + Haff, and MANY more! WOWSERS! I delight in seeing all of these absolutely scrumptious delights, even though I could never afford even the smallest of the jewelry masterpieces -- I particularly enjoy the gem-studded plant and animal motifs, and the micromosaic items. I do have a lot of sterling though, which always interested Evelio. Each jewelry maker is listed in the 5 pages of Biographies, adding to the wealth of useful information contained in this tome. If you have begun a personal computer database of makers//styles/models, you will certainly find many new items to add to it in this really kewl reference book. Index of Artists, extensive Biographies [of jewelry makers], Diamond Color Grading, Diamond Clarity Grading, Ring Sizes [American - French/Japanese - English - Metric].
