This OUT OF PRINT catalogue lists and describes 932 lots of a fabulous vintage collection of Dolls, Toy Trains and Accessories, and Antique Toys of all Kinds - many from the Arnold Collection Archive!

"The Arnold Company was founded by Karl Arnold on the 4th October 1906 in Nuremburg, Germany. He began by producing simple tinplate toys, quickly moving on to more complex steam powered pieces such as boats, locomotives and their accessories.

"Attractive novelty toys were produced for national and export markets. The first post-war toys were made using the same pre-war tooling. Many of the toys included in the Arnold Toy Archive are in fact Japanese and were presumably used to inspire new Arnold products. In 1956 Arnold produced a remote controlled toy and in 1960 produced an electric train set which were both great commercial successes."

ITEMS INCLUDE - TRAINS - paintings and photos having railroad themes, posters, locomotives, coal cars/tenders, flat wagons with military equipment, planes and circus loads, various types of coaches, stations, street lamps, bridges; DOLLS - doll houses, furnishings (some dating from the 18th century!), male and female of every description and composition ; TOYS - clockwork, friction and electric, tinplate, diecast and other cars and race cars, trucks, planes, ships, rockets, robots, steam engines, knights and soldiers, prototypes, and a lot MORE goodies!

MAKERS INCLUDE those in the header and - Bandai, Bockholt, Fleischmann, F.M. Models, Heubach, Jumeau, Kestner, Kammer + Reinhardt, Kathe Kruse, Lehmann, Marseille, Nomura, S. F. B. J., Simon + Halbig, Yonezawa, among MANY others!

WOWSERS!! The first 48 pages of this unusually kewl book are devoted to dolls, doll houses, exquisite furnishings, and teddy bears. The final 3/4 of the reference deal with the Arnold Archive, consisting of tinplate toys of various kinds, and a wealth of trains and related accessories! MOST of the color pics are in the last 3 quarters. This is perhaps the most extensive toy catalog I have ever had.
