Beanie HANG TAGS may be found in several Generations. Each is different from the others in general format. When these toys were first becomming popular on the WWW, there was no single-paged reference source to help identify the generation of the critter, using only its hang tag. The other classical sites had links to scans of the different individual tags, which meant clicking on a link and having to return to the listing page to click on yet another link to see a different tag - which I found unnecessary and time consuming. Below I have reproduced -- AND I was the first to do so on the Internet! -- the different standard Generation tags, from the oldest to the newest, showing scans of the outside and inside views. Although variations DO exist within each Generation, these differences are NOT presented here. No attempt to anaylze the tush tags is presented because they show so much variation within a HT generation, that it is impossible to reach any valid conclusions at this point, and since Ty himself has never provided this info (and never will), it is pure speculation and only confuses one's attempt at some understanding of these tushies. Apparently they were used until there were no more of a type remaining, and/or were simply sewn on from a mixed batch of older newer tags at the factory -- a very random process.
