20 June 2001 - Some Beanie variations have shown up : 1) xx can have the flag on either leg, and a couple were found with the flag on BOTH legs! 2) xx has the normal spots, and some have been appearing with different color spots 3) xx has been found with a whitish background and others seem to have a pale blue background. Always try to collect the different variations. Some will be found to be rarer than others. I hope to receive some of these from a friend and hope to get pics here to show the differences.

10 June 2001 - If you like to collect Christmas ornaments, check around at the Hallmark dealers near you. Some of them seem to have sporadic 50%-off sales on the 2000 ornies. And now that the weather has gotten sort-of summer-like, you might also do the rounds of the yard sales in your area - you never know what you might find really cheapo!

8 June 2001 - it seems as if the next toy shows around the country will feature some new critters. Some say they will only be available to those who attend the shows. There is supposed to be some special critter to celebrate Ty's 15th year making our favorite toys. Stay tuned!

5 June 2001- Issy was announced as retired and the usual retirement photo appeared on the Ty site. Then, apparently, just as surprisingly, he seems to have UNretired and the pic link disappeared! So Issy is still current.

Many retirements have occured this year, and it seems to have created a renewed interest in Ty's creations. They still remain the cutest and most reasonably priced collectible toys anywhere.

30 April 2001 - The People's Beanie was finally selected from weeks of voting on the Ty site - CLASSY, the bear won!

20 March 2001 - ISSY is now available in many official Beanie adoption centers, and they have different tags corresponding to TY's Four Seasons Hotel locations! Now to have a complete set of the critters you need MANY ISSYs, each with a different National and International city on the tag! Personally I would be happy with just one.

11 February 2001 - Those attenting the toy fair in New York have reported that some new Beanies have been sighted! Among them are a new doggy, bear and a Triceratops dinosaur! When they are officially announced you will find the link on the NEW-2001 page, above.

17 January 2001 - Kaleidoscope , a new multi-colored Beanie cat was reported in a shipment to England (from BeanieWonderland)

4 January 2001 - Issy , a new Beanie bear appeared at Ty's Four Seasons Hotel in New York!

1 January 2001 - shortly after midnight, Illinois time, Ty announced the new critters!

As the century comes to an end, I want to thank all of my viewers for their visits during 2000, and hope to see you again in the new millennium. I take great pride in having been able to offer collectors everywhere the longest continuously updated running Beanie Newsletter on the Internet and I plan to to have all kinds of kewl information for my 4th consecutive year, so stay tuned!

Since the Ty site hasn't been updated since 29 December, I assume the lone programmer is preparing the usual surprises we get on New Years Eve??
