This OUT OF PRINT catalogue lists and describes 373 lots, ALL of which appear to be illustrated, of an mouth-watering selection of vintage Lady's and Men's Watches, Clocks of all Kinds, and Barometers !

Included are - WATCHES - mans' and ladies' wristwatches, hand and key wind pocket watches, purse watches, watch stands; CLOCKS - carriage, mantel, travelling, desk, table, lantern, cartel, skeleton, chamber and longcase clocks, marine chronometers, and MORE!

Makers include - those in the header and - Breguet, Bucherer, Clark, Dent, Drocourt, Glashutte, Grimalde + Johnson, International Watch Company, Klemania, Mercer, Movado, Rolex Cellini, Tudor, among MANY others!

Since I was a teenager I have been fascinated by clocks of all kinds, and have MANY around the house, from a carriage clock on my desk to a fabulous longcase clock in the living room. Maybe it's the mechanism -- OR the solid and individual sound of the chimes on different models that creates a pleasing atmosphere?

The first section of this kewl reference illustrates and thoroughly describes a collection of vintage pocket and wrist watches - hunting cased repeating (among others), with calendars, moon phases, and other features, in all kinds of mechanisms. Then we can see a treasure trove of clocks of every description, some dating back to the 16th century!

For an avid horological aficionado, this is one really splendid reference source with which to add to your personal computer database of clock/watch makers/styles -- and barometers! Can you imagine going to an auction preview without that stash of reference books/notes to lug around? Put all of your data, including pics, on a single CD and access anything on your handy iBook laptop according to search words, much as you do on eBay, and find what you are looking for in an instant!

Extensive Index [of makers].

For well over 20 years I have been adding these extremely well illustrated, frequently monographic auction catalogues as reference sources to my personal library, and was always absolutely thrilled to find something dealing with my eclectic interests. As with many of the books in my research library, I frequently, when possible, obtained duplicate copies, as I like to have one to use and another as a back-up. They are really a UNIQUE source for hard-to-find data and for use as identification guides, usually containing information about the size, media, dates, styles, signatures, estimated values, and often data on the artist or maker. Older catalogues on specialized subjects are usually extremely difficult to find because knowledgeable collectors had already acquired them as invaluable reference sources when they first appeared!
