In the 1990s, during my very active early days on the Internet, I decided to prepare my future WWW presence by beginning to register a series of TOP LEVEL domain names that reflect my eclectic interests, which are many -- from scientific research, fossils, solar cycles and biorhythms, art, books, the Canary Islands where I had lived, studied and taught for over a decade, to my Siamese and Sphynx cats, which I have bred for many years -- among others. Even in those early days it was not easy to find a TOP LEVEL domain name that was not already registered, and it cost a lot more -- now it is virtually (no pun intended!) impossible to find a desired first choice domain name! All the short, easy to remember generic ones have been registered to someone else for years already! The largest single potential target cyber market in the near future is China, which only since about 2002 has seen a tremendous interest and upsurge in personal computer use, mostly for business purposes, as their official government policies are now opening up in a more liberalized open market socio-economic environment than was the case in the past -- I have thus also invested in several TOP LEVEL domains relative to that area of the global economy. Whether you buy or sell something, or just think it is time to get that personal domain name for whatever personal / blog use, now is the last chance you may have to obtain a name which interests you. I have thus far only spent a lot of time on a handful of my domain real estate, if you will. The remaining many await for when I have the time and energy to develop them -- if that ever happens in this lifetime! I am very intellectually ambitious and active in what I enjoy doing, and I only wish my physical self would have remained at that still overactive stage of development! Below you will find a list of my currently registered TOP LEVEL domains. I have had others in the past, but allowed them to lapse due to having prematurely retired from science teaching because of a handicap and the resulting problems. When I went to find them again, without exception, they were ALL registered by someone else -- it also happened to a friend recently! What would you get if you acquired one of my available unused Top Level domain names? 1 - total and absolute control over said domain name; it would then be registered to you -- the transfer process is slightly administratively complicated, and varies somewhat with the different endings [com, net, ws, info, etc.] -- I do all that work for you at no extra cost, and in some cases another year is added to the registration / hosting benefits 2 - you can then use the domain for whatever purpose you desire; blogs, what you collect or have interest in, your business and selling activities, to provide information about your latest happenings for distant family and friends -- whatever your heart desires 3 - each of these domains includes hosting by Directnic, my preferred registrar and server provider, for at least a year or two, in certain cases, more -- what that means is that, if you have web pages made already on some internet provider's free servers, you can then immediately transfer the files and information to your new servers on your own Internet real estate -- you get loads of space [= bandwidth] for many pages and pics -- and the space may be further enlarged by adding sub domains to your main domain name 4 - this also includes email forwarding and your own email special address, ie.: JohnDoe@your domain -- as well as other benefits 5 - I shall help you get started, and already have some web pages avaialble which help in various aspects of becoming a venerable WebMaster
