My eBay PROFILE
Please
Read
To make my item descriptions somewhat easier to load, navigate and read, I have moved all of the details of my after - the - sale information, such as How to Pay, How I Ship, Where I Ship To, and other useful information in English and Spanish to a different web page, which opens in a new browser window for convenience
The above links will take you to the listings of the individual items from my personal Collections/Library which I am selling online, including ALL pertinent data and pics, when available. I attempt to be as precise and all inclusive as possible, and I believe that the photos certainly speak for themselves. I actually spend MANY hours preparing each batch of item descriptions, sometimes over a period of several days, in order to make them as exacting as I can for the potential bidder.
Data on artists is obtained from reference books which I have (Mallett, Benezit and Davenport), and usually refers to the signature on the item. I was not present when the works were created or signed and cannot OBJECTIVELY authenticate them - BUT - ALL of the media, subject, style, dates (when present) and signatures (when signed) are within the scope of a particular artist's works, as found in reference books. I do NOT pretend to be an art expert - Evelio was - and my "GUARANTEE" is that I, based on the foregoing, consider them AUTHENTIC!
If you have even a teensy single doubt concerning any particular item, please do not bid. I have NEVER had a return in over 30 years and do not intend to begin now!! What you SEE and read, both in my item descriptions and here, is what you get.
GOOD LUCK - - IN YOUR BIDDING

I ONLY ship via U.S. Postal Service PRIORITY with DELIVERY CONFIRMATION. Buyer pays for shipping and processing (normally $4.94) and the total depends on the final bid / weight / any special packing needed / insured value (YOU must request insurance if you want to be safe, especially on higher priced items) -- FOREIGN Global Priority SHIPPING COSTS MORE and is available to most countries. Multiple item winners USUALLY save on shipping!!
HINTS FOR HAVING THE WINNING BID
1. Place your bid the first time you see an item. DO NOT use that dumb Auction Watch feature, OR wait until the absolute last minute -- there are many out there with faster modems and even specialized bidding programs that get their bids in automatically -- and at peak times, auction sites can be VERY slow and undependable!
2. Keep an index card above your keyboard having the ending date of the items you have an interest in, with an ending time 29 minutes BEFORE it's ending time. (which gives you time to spare if you, as is frequently my case, are busy doing something else on the computer) DO NOT wait for the auction notice that you were outbid -- it could come after the auction ends (PLUS, you may be on another screen name, which is frequently my case)!! Simply press RELOAD to see the latest bids.
3. Within the last 2 minutes of the auction end, place two bids - even IF you are the high bidder, your increase will NOT show up unless another bidder does the usual LAST MINUTE sprint, which happens VERY frequently! Hey, and remember, in Life you win some and you lose some - it has worked like that for thousands of years!
HINTS FOR RECORD KEEPING WITH ONLINE DEALS
1. I already have a section dedicated to organizing your ONLINE BUYING AND SELLING. Although originally prepared several years ago as a guide for Beanies, the general principles are also useful for ANY online deals. Forms which you may print out and modify to suit your particular needs are included.
2. IF you are an auction seller who does a modest volume, you might be interested in seeing how I keep track of my posts, item descriptions and pics -- AUCTION RECORD.
3. Auctions can be kewl fun - but there are some PITFALLS.

SUPERB GRAPHICS
I am VERY pleased to be able to offer a selection of PROOF Art Deco advertising art works from the personal scrapbooks of the Belgian-American illustrator, Stan Fraydas
Stan Fraydas was born in Belgium on 4 September 1908 and graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. He was the Art Director for one of the leading department stores in Bruxelles, designed posters for the Belgian Government, a cartoonist, as well as doing ads for many Belgian companies. His advertising affiches and window displays would have been staple viewing for Hercule Poirot, the Belgian detective on PBS's Mystery, who is constantly surrounded by Art Deco motifs.
He arrived in the U.S. in 1940. He published a series of political cartoons in La Voix de France, Pour La Victoire, PM, Nation, Free World and The New York Times, among others, from 1941 to 1944. He taught classes in Painting Critique, Cartoons in Advertising and Publishing, etc. at New York University.
His cartoons have appeared in the Saturday Evening Post, Collier's, LIFE and Ladies' Home Journal, among others.
He is the author of Professional Cartooning, and has illustrated children's books for Golden Books and Grosset and Dunlap, among others.
He died on 29 September 1985 in New York at the age of 77.
These items are all from Brussels, Belgium and date from the 1930s, and are in excellent condition.

BEANIE BABIES
ALL RETIRED and at Cheapo opening bids!!
CANADIAN Beanies
WHY COLLECT CANADIAN ??
1. They are MUCH RARER than their American counterparts!
2. They have 2 tush tags. Due to Canadian law, articles must have French as well as English text, in the case of Beanies, a second over-sized tush tag in both languages.
3. They usually seem somewhat more plump than their American cousins.
4. A complete collection should include ALL versions and variations of a particular Beanie.
5. It might be a stimulus to learn French.

Mine is Bigger Than Yours! Who says size doesn't matter?
13 March 2003 / Thursday - Well, it only took me since 1997 to finally get it this big -- and I never had to click on any of those annoying frequent spam emails to increase the size of my ...........
My sincerest thanks and congratulations to Bill, a somewhat-recent eBay member and winner of one of my treasures was the lucky ducky, and he is getting 100 Cat Dollars sent to him by snail mail to spend on bids for any of my eBay goodies until the end of June 2003! I am really purrrrrrrrrrrrring with delight right now! Would anyone care to join me in a Champaign toast?
Hey, about eBay feedback ratings -- when do you think they will become a deciding factor in the Presidential elections? It can't be any worse than the criteria they use now.
Who knows -- more of my happy winners may find unexpected Cat Dollars with their wins!

Keeping Track of Items / Bids
When you find an item that you cannot live without, DO NOT add it to that stupid WATCH LIST! It is so much easier to just place at least a minimum bid on the item and have it in your easy to find BIDDER LIST -- I keep that link in a virtual folder on my puter desktop, and, when I remember to look at what I am bidding on, it is a lot easier than having to sign-in to get to your watch list!
I also have an index card right in front of my computer screen with the day that things I bid on end, with the time as 20 minutes before the auction end. That should allow me plenty of time to bid again in case the servers are slow, which is not unusual. Of course, the key word here is IF I remember to look at either my bidder list and/or the index card! But my general philosophy in Life has always been -- you can't win them all!

Cover ALL Your Bases
When you find a seller who has something you are interested in, make sure to check their other items -- the link is always given at the top of the page and perhaps elsewhere in their item description.
It is simply amazing what one can discover doing this! It may or may not have anything to do with what you originally searched for, but it may be of equally great interest.
And don't forget to do a REFINE SEARCH for available to the USA -- you will not believe some of the deals outside of the USA.
I recently opened an eBay Store and my goodies are grouped under a couple easy-to-understand personal categories in English and Spanish, which makes any search a lot easier -- PLUS, everything in my store is BUY IT NOW, which means that you don't have to wait 10 days and get all those annoying YOU WERE OUTBID NOTICES -- check it out while you are there on my seller's list.

Doing a Thorough Search
If you remember, last month we did a Refine Search for Coca Cola items to include those listed on foreign eBay pages. Allow me to expand on this a little more --
What happens when the person who listed the item, used the KEY WORDS in the title, Coca Cola, in another way, or even spelled them wrong?
Do a search for CocaCola -- now the two words are a single one -- one step further, search for Coka Cola and CokaCola -- you will get items listed under each of those variations!
Another example -- the program I use to make my web pages is Adobe PageMill and it is usually available on eBay -- search for Adobe PageMill and Adobe Page Mill -- I frequently find this software listed under both variations.
I have, over the years, found item title variations in such things as Steif + Stief, Wedgwood + Wegwood, mold + mould, and innumerable others -- and when there is an obvious mis-spelling, the item usually has fewer bids and may be a great buy!
* SunCat's eBay TIP for April 2003 *
OK so you are looking for, let's say, Coca Cola collectibles -- you type Coca Cola in the SEARCH space and click -- the page you get will let you choose which category you are most interested in, ADVERTISING, for example, so you click on that option near the top left and you will find everything up for sale that is in any way connected with the soft drink brand, which right now number 10,789 items -- BUT --
IF you do a Refine Search - for items available to the US, the list now numbers 10,824 items -- that is 35 more things, probably listed on one of the European or other eBay sites, and I have found that real bargains may be had outside of the USA listings, from music CDs to Barbies, and they are not visible in a normal basic search!
